The challenge

The Tools in Data Science course asked for an application that could receive a quiz URL and solve it end-to-end without a human — each quiz page hides a data task (scrape a page, parse a PDF, call an API, crunch numbers, draw a chart) and links to the next one.

What I built

  • A REST API that accepts quiz jobs and runs them asynchronously
  • A LangGraph state machine that plans, calls tools, checks its own answers and moves through chained quiz pages
  • A toolbelt for the agent: headless web scraping, file download, PDF/text cleaning, pandas analysis, ML helpers and chart generation
  • Containerised with Docker and deployed on Hugging Face Spaces

What I learned

Designing reliable agent loops — tight tool contracts, retries, timeouts and guard-rails matter more than the prompt itself.
